Great rod, great price
I had heard a lot about these rods so I ordered one. Great sensitivity, casts light jigs (1/32 oz) real good. Haven't decided if I really like the grip so you may want to try one out in person before ordering.
Very good, but not great
I got this rod with only one intent in mind: jigging for trout with teeny-tiny lures, mostly the Trout Magnet. Right out of its plastic wrap, its aspect is great, but, in my opinion, its thickness is a bit disappointing. I own two other Fenwick rods, a 7' Eagle GT and a 7'6" HMX, both Light power. The River Runner starts thicker, and you wonder whether they could have done a better job at making it slimmer. It is very fast taper, and got a very sensitive, yet stiff tip. The very specialized 1/32-3/16oz lure rating might indicate high sensitivity and prowess with tiny lures, even though the power is Light (and not Ultra-Light). I weighed the rod and got 3.6oz, a bit lighter when compared to 4.0oz and 4.3oz for the other two I mentioned above. So far, it does a good job with the Trout Magnet (the whole 1/64oz jighead and the plastic lure weigh, probably, less than 1/40oz). It casts it well, with very light line. I'm using Orvis Super-Strong 5X, 0.15mm diameter; yes, I know that's tippet...
