Scotty #248 Oarlock Mount is excellent for row boats. Use the oarlock socket on your small boat to mount a rod holder or laketroller downrigger. Install or remove in seconds. Made from fiber reinforced nylon.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Works fine
This clamps on to the oar lock mount on the boat easily and securely. No complaints, pretty simple. You put your rod holder in there and you can clock it to any direction you want.
I use it with a Cannon rod holder. It is not a perfect fit, but does the job. I'm sure with a Scotty rod holder it fits perfect.
Nice product if you want to add a removable rod holder to your boat, or want the flexibility to swap sides and you don't use your oars.

Lack of adjustment and bolts too short
The bolts that come with the Scotty oarlock mount were too short for my boat's oarlocks by 3/4 inch. Usually a manufacturer will provide a bolt with cut-ouf sections so 1/2 or more can be easily broken off to get the length needed.
If the vertical distance from the top of the boat gunnel to the bottom of the oarlock is greater than 2.125 inches this mount will not work with the hardware supplied.
Very sturdy.
Perfecct for the aluminum boat with oar locks. Fit like a glove on my 12' Valco. It's difficult to find a way to mount rod holders on aluminum boats and this is the answer. I also bought a Scotty rod holder and the combination will stand up to light tackle and heavy tackle rods. Easily removed in about 10 seconds if you need to use your oars.
